This is yet another word that has hit the point of saturation for me and is therefore on my shit-list. Gone along with "extraordinary," "anything-sized," and "change,"(thanks, Obama) "bonus" is just another word that has been used and abused to the point where its meaning has lost all value.

I really blame the movie studios with their incessant release and re-release of DVDs. "New! Never Before Seen BONUS FEATURES!" it shouts at us. "Sixteen hours of added bonus material!" This apparently endless cycle has been increasing as new technology emerges and DVD sales continue to dip. Now with Blu-ray winning the HD battle, it's only going to become more hackneyed. Relax, guys, it's just more crap we're not going to watch.

I'm not going to write out some long, glowing bio for myself. Part of me just doesn't want to be bothered, it's like writing a cover letter or resume -- tedious and boring. Mostly I feel they never really tell you about a person. You can't encompass your entire "self" in one or two small paragraphs. So, like getting to know a friend, over time I'll dish out quirky, sometimes mundane, sometimes shocking, little bits of myself. Here's a sampling:

1. I spent the first 18 years of my life on a ranch outside a town of less than 100 people in the middle of Montana. My graduating class had 8 students with a total 9-12 enrollment of 28 kids. I was valedictorian. I gave part of my speech in French to a dumbfounded audience.
2. I prefer British television over American even though I've worked in network television i.e. sitcoms for the last six years. (see #3)
3. I was laid-off from my network sitcom job on November 7, 2007, day three of the WGA strike against the AMPTP.
4. I love the scent of freshly cut lilac wood. It's a smell like fresh dill weed.
5. One of the fondest memories of my childhood... collecting Garbage Pail Kids cards.
6. I've had Krispy Kreme donuts from Gwen Stefani's wedding reception sitting in my freezer for three years. Said petrified donuts are currently for sale to the highest bidder.
   
7. I've been to the oldest settlement in Alberta, Canada, Fort Chipewyan -- twice.
8. Listening to Tiffany's self-titled album is extremely calming to me.
9. I'm going to take paragliding lessons some day; you know, as a precursor to attaining unassisted human flight.
10. I mentally and emotionally felt like I was in my thirties when I was in my teens, now I feel like I'm on the tail end of a mid-life crisis, but I'm really only 29.
